Friday 18 July-
The recce conducted in earlier this year confirmed that it would be a good idea to hold our annual meet in Luxembourg. Nothing disappointed! For me it was a 0615hrs start, arriving with no issues at 1630hrs, after a dry and smooth 8 hour journey. Leon had arrived the day before to establish the advance party, prepare the location, buy provisions to last the weekend. Draak and G-Spot made the journey from the USA, arriving at Frankfurt then hiring a car arriving during the afternoon. Slowly the Brothers arrived on 2 wheels, Leon made the trip to collect his 'Angel' (Francesca) from the airport. We had reports from CheeZy that he had been disappointing let down by his motorcycle garage and that he would not be able to join us due to the lack of his motorcycle. Let the 'Bikes, Beer & Bullshit' commence... Once everyone was assembled, Philip, the son of our hosts took our orders for Pizza. When it arrived it was most welcomed by hungry people who needed to fill beer filled bellies. It was surprising that more people did not add to their Pizza experience by ordering more Pineapple, there is always time to educate people to the benefits of an additional '5 a day' on their Pizza! No complaints about the Pineapple on the Pizza! (well there were comments from one) Leon's ability to balance his luggage stowage never fails to impress! Our hosts, Buffel and Vanessa... simply outstanding! Our accommodation was more than adequate. Separate rooms for those who felt embarrassed by their farting, snoring and nakedness and a large sharing space in the attic of the farmhouse. Plenty of the above happening in there, but no complaints from anyone! After a long day of travelling, beer drinking and Pineapple-topped Pizza the sleeping time was much welcomed! Bikes parked up, time for bed... zzzzzzz End of day 1.

Up early for a continental breakfast and coffee. It was not long before we were joined by Spook and IceMan, they were warmly welcomed before we geared-up, received the safety brief from GunZ, fired up the machines and took lead from out host and Road Captain, Buffel. Before departing, IceMan gave a recital of 'Happy Birthday' with his pipes, while we sang along for Charles, Leon's grandson's birthday. Buffel's local knowledge was much appreciated and the ride out towards Diekirch was steady, well controlled and fun. The countryside was pleasant to the eye, road conditions were good and the rain stayed when it belongs... well away from us! There was a very noticeable smell while driving through the countryside. It could have been the farmers spreading manure on the fields, or was it the smell of the Bullshit being talked the previous evening? The location for lunch was pre-booked by Buffel, it was a short walk from parking the bikes, through a quaint town. A typical Luxembourg menu and local beers awaited us. The festive-board was most welcome and did not disappoint! Following a good lunch, we headed off to have a look around the local WW2 Museum. Having visited more than a few museums in my time, the experience was enjoyable and the exhibits were well maintained and very well presented indeed, a pleasant surprise to the trip! Draak was keen to show his negotiation skills and managed to get 2€ of each entry fee, just goes to prove he has more unknown talents! There were many life-sized scenes from around the local area from WW2. A nice balance from all actors, nothing was held back and representations of all involved was very apparent to see. There was a very complete equipment scale, weapons, vehicles, uniforms and even an Enigma machine! Pictures of the well-presented museum... Mortar team fight while the HQ eats and laughs... some things never change. The rats even get a place! Troops out grafting, HQ eating and making local connections In the trenches On exit from the museum, the curse of the RWMC ride-out was very evident, the rain was threatening to take it's vengeance on us. Frantic searching on weather Apps and the need to convince each other we could either sit it out or out-run it, provoked debate about waterproof gear and the gentle reminder that 'skin is waterproof' from GunZ, the decision was taken to head back and brave the weather, It was not too bad, a light watering to dampen the clothes, but not the spirit of those riding! A good ride back resulted in dry kit on return, after all, what would a RWMC trio be without rain! After the post-ride admin and the change into more relaxing clothing, the BBQ was attended to by Doc and Leon. The result was much smoke, huffing and puffing followed by fire and embers to cook the food. What a feast, plenty of meat and a little carrot and cabbage to satisfy those not wanting too much protein. Well done to those who prepared both th fire and the food, very much appreciated by those less capable of preparing both! We were also joined by Handy, Calzone (Alter Ego MC) and Alex. the latter being a colleague from the German Federal Police, who is good friends with several of the Warriors, but does not sit on 2 wheels (yet). Good to welcome another Brother and a guest! Also a few of Buffel's family/friends supported us with drinking the liquids on offer and food that was plentiful. As a mark of our humble appreciation for the way we were hosted by Buffel and his good lady Vanessa, presentations were made to them personally and for the Clubhouse of Alter Ego and Gun Fighters MC. Single Malt Whiskey, Norwegian Aquavit, Belgian Owl Whisky, Alter Ego and Gunfighter Whisky (well sourced by Draak & G-Spot) added to the engraved canvas picture presented by Leon. Gifts were well presented, well & gratefully received It goes without saying that beer was plentiful, not to mention the odd Whisky and shit of Bourbon! A slow withdrawal of individuals to bed A split ride of approx. 160km. End of Day 2.

Another early rise for a limited breakfast, not that anyone was in need of anything more than a coffee! A Board-meeting was convened, consisting of 5 Members (Leon, Draak, Q, GunZ & Blue). There was a full agenda and notes were taken by Q as the Scribe. Notes were sent out by Draak, but a full copy of the Minutes will be sent out to all once completed by Q. Nothing negative, much positive and things to look forward to! After a short back-brief to those at the meet, preparations were made for the second day of riding, a short ride was planned. It was decided that a short ride and short guided tour of the city of Luxembourg conducted by Buffel. Luxembourg was full of surprises for me, being my first visit. After a short stop for fuel, IceMan and Handy departed to fulfil their other weekend commitments, a please to see and ride with them both! Free public transport took us to the city centre, a clean and well-kept city. We stopped for lunch, again booked in advance by Buffel. Local cuisine in a most appropriate location. Local dishes did not disappoint! A varied selection was made by those in attendance. 'Steak de Cheval' to a few was like Pineapple on a Pizza, but those that ate it were more than happy! (Apologies to Mrs G-Spot, please do not travel to burn down my house for eating horse). After lunch the rain God decided to raise his ugly head again, this time we were forced to take refuse in a local Pub. Drinks all round while the heavens emptied, but it passed while we sipped local beer. Once the rain had stopped, we had a short and interesting guided tour around the old city. Making use of glass lifts and a cable assisted train to transit the very steep sided valleys of the city, we were given a choice exposure to a really nice location. The Palace, no guards today. A very motley, but happy crew. Little & Large, one tunnel fits all.
Our personal guide assistant. Luxembourg did not disappoint. Time to ride back avoiding the rain, Spook departs for home, bikes parked up and ready again for a BBQ and more protein! Another session of drinking, eating and bullshit! To include a very brief introduction to Wookie (a potential RWMC Member) via a WhatApp video call, nice to chat to him after he sent his apologies and best wishes for the weekend. Also to Gucci, always great to hear from him and to hear his humour and energy has not taken a hit considering his unfortunate condition. Always a fighter, always engaging with his enthusiasm for the RWMC brethren, sadly missed on our meetings, but he is definitely not forgotten by any of us! CheeZy sent continuing messages through the weekend, great that he took the time to remember us and engage from Germany via messages, you were missed Brother! The food devoured, the beer fridge and reserve empty, it was time for a snooze again! A split ride of approx. 50Km. End of Day 3.

Reveille was sounded at 0700 by Philip (Buffel's son), a deafening noise of the ladle rattling around a steel saucepan, took many of us back to Bootcamp! Something he may well experience himself one day on his journey ahead of him, at 4 years old he has a great potential and to be guided by fantastic parents, he has the world at his feet. Not to mention he already has his own motorbike! A Motor-biker and Warrior in the making! For me the first to leave, it was an early start, departing at 0745 for the 650Km ride ahead of me. Clear roads, fair weather greeted me on my journey home. After my departure, Doc was next followed by the rest of the team after a clean-up and admin session around our accommodation and temporary Clubhouse. Doc to the Netherlands. Q & GunZ back to Germany. Leon onwards to Italy with his Angel. Draak & G-Spot to the USA via Frankfurt. For me a round trip of 1500Km complemented my new-found memories, banter and bullshitting for another successful RWMC Meeting. At the time of writing, all are back where they wish to be. I look forward to our next gathering, where ever that may be, thank you Brothers! Time to put my feet up, kick of my shoes and have a beer, until next time! Blue 'QuarterMaster'
